I’ve made no effort to hide that I love cured meat and that really made picking an order quite difficult. I have the capacity of about 0.5 person’s stomach with the desire to get at least 3 sandwiches plus one for take-out. I ended up picking Classic Italian.

Classic Italian (P145.00 or $3.25)
The Classic Italian is made up of cheese, onions, salami pepperoni, lettuce, tomato, and ham. You can pick from a choice of whole wheat bread or a French baguette. I chose the whole wheat for this precisely because the other sandwich we ordered would be in a baguette. Overall, not bad. But not as great as I hoped it to be. But for P145, you can’t go wrong with this. Fairly-priced for good quality.
You gotta have the Peach Iced Tea with this. Reminds me of the old Aquarius canned iced tea that I used to love as a kid, but better. You can add around P50 to any sandwich and you get the iced tea plus a bag of Lay’s. Not bad, I guess, even if I’m not such a fan of Lay’s chips.

Peach Iced Tea(P35.00 or $0.75)
My sister got a BLT, which is your basic bacon, lettuce and tomato. A BLT shouldn’t cost that much but for they use really good Canadian bacon — smokey and clearly the star of the show (as it should) amidst all the ingredients. The BLT came in a French baguette. I’d say you can’t go wrong with either types of bread. Veggies were fresh, but if not for the bacon, it’s really just a pretty decent BLT.

We wanted to try at least one of the sausages3 so we went for the Pepperoni Grilled Sausage. I’d say it’s nothing extraordinary, but it’s pretty good. The Pepperoni Sausage had a kick of spice, but beyond that, it really didn’t taste anything like pepperoni. The casing’s a bit tough, but this is a pretty damn good sausage even if you changed the name to just Pepperoni Grilled Sausage.

Pepperoni Grilled Sausage (P75.00 or $1.65)
I was a bit disappointed with the Roast Beef Sandwich. Came with roast beef, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, white onions, and an aioli dressing. I found the roast beef a bit dry.

Roast Beef Sandwich (P137.00 or $3.00)
I did love the Salami Milano, though. It’s become my go-to every single time. It’s about 2-3 salamis on a ciabatta bread with arugula leaves and some cream cheese and it’s awesome. A bit more expensive than most of the items, but worth it IMHO.

Salami Milano (P179.00 or $4.00)
The main complaint about Earle’s (specifically the Makati / Columns branch) is really the terrible turrible4 service. Apparently, to prepare a cold sandwich5, it takes them anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes. The Ortigas branch was OK, though. The parking rate6 was really the worst part of it. On a side note, the party platters look really good.
